STEAM Explorers Caravan: Discover, Create, Innovate!

The project aims to inspire curiosity and environmental awareness through interactive and hands-on experiences about green energy. Primary and secondary school students, teachers and school community members will explore solar, hydroelectric and wind energy through engaging workshops, bringing STEM education directly to communities, including underserved areas.

The caravan includes seven educational themed stations:
🔹 Exploring the Senses Station – where children interact with the five senses through tactile, auditory, olfactory, gustatory and visual activities;
🔹 Wonders of Nature Station – dedicated to observing plants and insects, analyzing water and soil and exploring the environment with the help of a drone;
🔹 Robotics Station – where Bee-Bot, Codey Rocky, Photon and Makeblock teach children the basics of coding and logical thinking;
🔹 Little Explorers Chefs Station – which combines science with cooking and nutrition, through experiments and healthy snacks;
🔹 Renewable Energy Station – where children build models powered by the sun and wind, discovering clean energy;
🔹 Age of Exploration Station – where little ones learn about the compass, navigation and the instruments of the great discoverers.

🔹 The Engineering Station, titled Medieval Craftsmen (Da Vinci's Inventions), will explore simple machines and engineering principles through the lens of Leonardo da Vinci's inventions.

Through experimental, collaborative and playful activities, the project stimulates children's curiosity, critical thinking and creativity, inspiring them to become little explorers of the world around them.

The STEAM Explorers Caravan turns education into an adventure, where science, art, and nature meet to ignite the spark of knowledge!

At the Bârsești Extended Daycare Center, children explored the world of the senses, tested percussion instruments, identified spices by smell and color, were fascinated by optical illusions and chemical reaction experiments made from simple kitchen materials. The activities continued outdoors, where they searched for insects, set up a terrarium, learned compass orientation in a treasure hunt, and discovered how green energy is produced.

At the Voievod Litovoi Kindergarten, workshops brought programming and robotics to the forefront. Children worked with Bee-Bot, Codey Rocky, Photon and Makeblock, helping lost astronauts return to the ship, completing the food pyramid and “travelling” through the countries of Europe. They measured the decibel level generated by percussion instruments, observed microplastics in water samples collected from the Jiu River and conducted science experiments with household ingredients.
